Early Childhood Advocates Unite for Capitol Day
In a collaborative effort, the Wisconsin Head Start Association (WHSA) joins forces with the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association, the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, Raising Wisconsin, and other key stakeholders for what promises to be an impactful advocacy event.
Tuesday, April 15
The two-day event kicks off with specialized professional development, where attendees can participate in comprehensive Advocacy 101-104 sessions and State Program Leadership training. These preparatory workshops will equip participants with strategic advocacy techniques and policy knowledge essential for effective legislative engagement.
Wednesday, April 16
The main event— Advocacy Day with Legislative Visits—begins at The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club with a morning featuring influential speakers and focused training. Advocates will then unite for a powerful rally at the State Capitol, followed by afternoon legislative meetings where participants will directly engage with their state representatives and senators.
"This event creates a unique opportunity to amplify the voices of early childhood educators and families," said a WHSA representative. "By connecting frontline advocates with policymakers, we're working to ensure that high-quality early care and education remains a priority in Wisconsin."
Participants will have the chance to network with fellow advocates, gain deeper understanding of critical childcare issues, and most importantly, make their voices heard in the legislative process. Together, these collective efforts aim to create a stronger future for Wisconsin's youngest citizens.
